Beliefs 5–7 establish how Believers of the Way United understands YHWH, Yeshua the Messiah, and the Holy Spirit. We begin with the confession that YHWH is absolutely one and indivisible. He alone is God, without rival or equal, and the Father is the only true God. This belief shapes the way we read the whole of Scripture, including the New Testament, through the foundation of the Shema and the Hebrew witness of God’s oneness.

From that foundation, we confess that Yeshua is the Messiah: fully human, divinely appointed, anointed, and chosen by YHWH to walk in obedience and reveal the way of righteousness. We also believe the Holy Spirit is not a separate divine person, but the active presence, breath, power, and creative force of YHWH at work in creation, revelation, conviction, and the lives of His people. Together, these beliefs call us back to a Scripture-centered understanding of the one God, His appointed Messiah, and the Spirit by which YHWH empowers His people to walk in truth.

5. UNITARIANISM

The belief that God is absolutely one and indivisible — YHWH alone is God, the Father is the only true God, and Yeshua the Messiah is his divinely appointed human servant, distinct from YHWH and subordinate to him.
