Beliefs

Summary of Our Fundamental Beliefs.

NOTE: The twenty-seven fundamental beliefs of Believers of the Way United are not merely statements of doctrine, but a declaration of covenant faithfulness before YHWH. Together they express our commitment to Scripture, the oneness of God, the Torah as righteous instruction, the way of Yeshua the Messiah, and the practical calling to live holy, disciplined, compassionate, and obedient lives in the earth. These beliefs form the spiritual and theological foundation upon which our ministry stands.

At Believers of the Way United, we understand faith not as religious performance or intellectual agreement alone, but as a way of life — HaDerech, The Way. Our beliefs are rooted in the Hebrew foundations of Scripture and seek to call believers back to truth, righteousness, repentance, healing, discipleship, and covenant living before YHWH. We encourage every reader to search the Scriptures carefully, examine what has been taught, and pursue understanding with humility, reverence, and faithfulness.

Thought Inspiration

Scriptures are divinely inspired not through mechanical dictation of every word, but through the thoughts, ideas, and revelations YHWH communicated to the biblical writers.

The Word of God

The Word of God is not confined to 66 books, not limited to ink and paper, but is the living, active, and eternal self-expression of YHWH himself.

Creation

The heavens, the earth, and all living things were created by YHWH alone — not by chance, but by His sovereign word and will.

Explore our seven-part series, Foundations of the Way, for a more detailed summary of each belief along with the Old and New Testament Scriptures that form the biblical foundation for these positions. Each article is designed to help readers examine the text carefully, understand the Hebrew foundations of the faith, and see how Scripture shapes both doctrine and daily life.

Man and Woman in the Image of God

Both man and woman are created in the image of YHWH — endowed with dignity, intelligence, moral capacity, creativity, and dominion.

Unitarianism

God is absolutely one and indivisible — YHWH alone is God, the Father is the only true God.

Yeshua the Messiah

Yeshua the Messiah is fully and exclusively human — born of the seed of Joseph of the line of David, and divinely appointed by YHWH.

The Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit is not a separate person, but the active force, presence, and power of YHWH himself.

Resurrection

Death is a state of complete unconsciousness and non-existence, and that the hope of the believer is bodily resurrection from the dead.

State of the Dead

Death is not the gateway to an immortal soul floating in heaven or burning in hell, but a state of complete unconsciousness and silence.

The Soul

The soul is not an immaterial entity separate from the body, but rather the living being itself — the complete person created by YHWH.

The Law

The Torah — the divine instruction of YHWH given through Moses — is not abolished, but remains the eternal standard of righteousness.

The Sabbath

The seventh-day Sabbath — from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset — is the eternal, holy, and sacred rest ordained by YHWH at creation.

Each article is designed to help readers examine the text carefully, understand the Hebrew foundations of the faith, and see how Scripture shapes both doctrine and daily life.

Hell

Hell is not a place of eternal conscious torment, but rather the grave — sheol and hades — a state of unconscious death.

The Biblical Feasts

The seven appointed feasts of YHWH are not Jewish holidays abolished at the cross, but the eternal appointed times of YHWH himself.

Dietary Law

The biblical dietary laws outlined in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 are eternal, unchanging health and holiness instructions of YHWH.

Marriage

Marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by YHWH at creation — between one man and one woman — reflecting covenant faithfulness.

Baptism by Immersion

Baptism is not sprinkling of infants, but full immersion in water of a repentant, believing adult.

Health Message

The body is the temple of the Spirit of YHWH and must be honored, nourished, and cared for as an act of worship.

The Goodness of God

YHWH is inherently, eternally, and unconditionally good — not merely powerful or sovereign, but genuinely benevolent toward his creation.

Righteous Work

YHWH calls his people to produce righteous works — not as the means of earning salvation, but as the fruit of living faith.

The Dignity of Work

The belief that work is not a curse but a divine calling — instituted by YHWH before the fall and essential to human dignity.

Each article is designed to help readers examine the text carefully, understand the Hebrew foundations of the faith, and see how Scripture shapes both doctrine and daily life.

Financial Stewardship

All wealth, resources, and material possessions belong ultimately to YHWH — their Creator and owner.

The Assembly

The church is not a physical building, denomination, or religious organization, but the living assembly of all who have been called out by YHWH

Salvation

Salvation is not the exclusive possession of any one ethnic group, nation, or religious institution, but is freely accessible to all.

Conditional Salvation

Salvation is not an unconditional, irrevocable guarantee secured at the moment of belief, but a covenant relationship maintained by continued faith.

Women in Ministry

Women are not prohibited from preaching, teaching, and ministering the Word of YHWH, but are equally called, gifted, and anointed.

Eternal Life on Earth

The ultimate hope of the redeemed is not an ethereal existence floating in heaven, but bodily resurrection to eternal life on a renewed earth.

The first four beliefs of Believers of the Way United establish the foundation for how we understand Scripture, creation, and the human person. We begin with the conviction that YHWH has spoken — not through mechanical dictation, but through inspired thoughts, revelations, and divine truth communicated to the hearts and minds of chosen writers.
